I can write, if I'm more careful...I don't want anything like that to happen again.

I don't think I really understand what's going on with this new village...or new to us at least. I've heard people talking about it, but it still seems strange.

...do you want to come listen to my piece, before I invite everyone else?

I have to practice really hard. All three of these pieces need to be perfect when I perform them because I'm sure they'll notice if they aren't. Father would definitely notice, because he knows them so well already.

You don't write in this very much, do you...?

I've been trying to narrow down what I want to play for our birthday celebration. I have five or six to choose from now...but I still don't know which ones are best.

And lessons were hard today. I'm not sure I understand. Lissandra, maybe you could explain it...? You're good at that.

I can't make anyone do anything.

Father said this is how I can write just to myself, so it must work.

The accident...something doesn't seem right. But if Father says it's okay now, then it is. Right?

[Filter: Father]

I finished my new piece, if you still want to hear it.

[Korin]

once there was a maiden who slept
as she slept, she fought and loved and saw the world
and none could awaken her.
for in her dreams, she had a lover who truly knew her
though she did not see him.
she searched and searched but she could not find him.
she questioned everyone in her dream.
no one escaped her queries.
as time passed, she forgot him and did not know why she wept in her sleep.

the maiden awakened into daylight, silver tear tracks on her cheeks,
and as she rose from her bed, and blinked the last tears away,
she saw that her lover stood waiting.
